    Question Air Filters

We have differing opinions from service workers at our heating/cooling company. Is an electrostatic cleaner better than the regular filters?? Our first technician said electrostatic filters were great and to let our furnace fan run continually. We did and thought we had less dust in the house. But then it stopped working and the next tech said they are useless and said a 5" filter to be replaced every 6 months is better. I feel that we have a lot more dust with that even tho' we leave the fan on. How do we decide??

They are both good filters, the dust can change due to weather, i.e., dry vs. rainy, windy, etc.
    HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL!
