    Default Flooring Nailers

Can anyone tell me the difference between "nailers" and "staplers". I was looking at the Bostitch flooring 'nailer' but the only place I was able to purchase something similar to this item was at our local building center. They didn't have the 'nailer', just the 'stapler'. The stapler says that it will staple 3/4 inch hardwood floor, but I am a little apprehensive.

    Thanks for any advice.

Plenty of professional installers use staples as well.
With some it's preference --- they feel since staples have double fastening surface area this provides a more secure floor.

Thanks, Sam. I'll probably end up purchasing the 'stapler' type from my home improvement center.

My personal preference is a nailer if you have wood or plywood subfloor and staples if you have OSB subfloor.
