    Default Paint for laminate cabinets

My old kitchen has "wood look" laminate cabinets that I want to paint. What type of primer should I use, and what type of paint is going to adhere best?

I used a regular kilz primer, followed by two coats of white semi gloss paint, followed two coats of polyurethane. Before I did any painting I gave the cabinet doors and boxes a light sanding followed by a good cleaning with TSP. good luck!

We just finished a bathroom that had shiny laminate doors. Sherwin Williams has several excellent latex primers- we used Pro Block. It covered completely and left a great flat finish. Two coats of white semi-gloss paint over that and it looks like new.
