    Default 2-Wire Outlet

Have an old house with 2-Wire outlets. Only one box is Grounded. Can I just run a single wire ground from that box to the others to make them grounded?

Yes you can, providing that the one box is actually ground bonded at the panel.

But we are back to that age old question, if you are going to run a ground wire, why not just run 12/2 romex instead?

You can but I can think of at least 25 code articles off hand and I am sure there at least 50 more that would apply. All are for your safety. If you do head that direction there is much to considerer. As Jack mentioned, the biggest is making sure the panel or fuse box is properly bonded and grounded. As mentioned, to go through all of the work, it would take little more to just replace all of the wiring.
