    Default Cost of Staining Concrete?

We have a relatively small concrete front porch, maybe 200 sf with six entry steps. We've thought through the options and like the look of stain if done right. What should this cost us if we hire a reputable professional to do the job?

Get three quotes then you'll know. Cost varies by location, desire to do the work, materials involved.
It's this old house, not this built after your dad was born house.

The total cost will be labor plus materials.

You will have to find out the numbers from local sub contractors, such as painters.

Check several jobs from those you choose to get estimates from and make sure those are stained similar to what you want. A good concrete stain job isn't always simple or easy. Mistakes made here will be permanent and you get only one try at it so only use an experienced spec!alist, not a handyman type.

Since it is small have you considered doing it yourself? Staining, though daunting, is really not that hard if you are conscientious. Water base stains these days are easy to apply, durable and can be had in dozens of colors. As long as your concrete is prepped properly. That is the most overlooked part. Not good. A good resource i found for DIY is at concretestains.biz. Concrete network is also good. A project like this is a god starter. Who knows. You can get the bug and then tackle a basement or garage! Gray concrete is boring!
