    Question stair tread veneer?

I am installing new hardwood floors upstairs and down on top of plywood underlayment that had been carpeted. As a result the stair treads should each be raised 3/4 of an inch. I planned to add 3/4 of an inch of plywood beneath each tread but it is going to be extremely difficult to disassemble the staircase. Are you aware of 3/4 inch veneer treads I might adhere to the top of the treads rather than tear the staircase appart?

    Default Re: stair tread veneer?

Just to make sure the reason for my question is understood, since I am adding 3/4" flooring upstairs and down, if I do nothing to the stair treads, the top riser will be 3/4 of an inch higher than the risers below it and 1 1/2" higher than the bottom (first) riser.
