    Exclamation Paint thinner and polyurethane

Is it safe to mix paint thinner with polyurethane for wood floors? I have heard it can act as an accelerant in a fire, is this true? What are the benefits of thinning rather than straight poly?

If you're worried about fire, there are far more flammable items in your home than the finish you put on your wood floor. Carpet, d****s, fabrics, plastics, and foams are what fuel a fire the most.

Poly is thinned to make it more workable, have a longer open time, and to allow it to be absorbed by the wood more readily. Always follow the product instructions for thinning and application.
I suffer from CDO ... Its like OCD, but in alphabetical order, LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!
