    Default sparking or fizzling sound

Whenever I turn on some light switches (usually slowly) the switch makes a fizzling or sparking sound. Is this normal? Should I have this checked out? Thanks.

It is not normal! You may have a serious electrical problem in the walls! Get an electrician pronto!

To answer your question, yes and no. It is all going to depend on what you mean by "slowly". Switches are meant to be flipped turning them on slowly you can get arching between the contacts especially with cheap switches. If it doesn't happen when you "flip" the switch it could just burn out the contacts faster. If it happens when you flip the switch you need to have it checked out.
