We recently purchased a four square with Victorian embellishments...the wood inside is original and in pristine condition...pocket doors, wide baseboards, etc. I have been looking for decorating ideas that are more our family's style but that still coincide with the original woodwork. Right now there is a lot of "busy" wallpaper with lots of flowers. I prefer single-color painted walls, perhaps some wainscotting or crown molding types of trim. I also like a brighter room rather than a dark room. My problem is that when I look for ideas in magazines or ******, the trim is painted white 99% of the time. I do not want to paint over the wood trim in the house.

My husband is great at looking at a room and "seeing" what it will look like redone, but I, unfortunately, usually need to physically see an example. If anyone knows of any resources for me, please let me know.
