Default Water Based Stain & Glue

    Hello.....

Can anyone tell me if I use a water based stain on a board, would I then be able to glue some wooden letters to this same board?

I don't see why not. What kind of glue will you use?

BTW: Have you finished your remodel project?

    There should be no problem.

Stains, in general, won't affect glues, in general. While there will always be instances where there are incompatibilities, there isn't usually a big issue. The best thing in all situations is to do a test for compatibility. Generally, water based things play well with other water based things.

Thanks for the replies. I was going to use an oil based stain, but thought better of it thinking there was no way glue would stick to an "OIL" based stain. I researched it and found that to be the consensus. So then I thought about water based. I am not sure what type of glue should be used.....would titebond work?

dj1.....the remodel project will never end. LOL It has been extremely slow going....extremely!
