    Question Garage Conversion

Okay, we are converting our garage into living area. We've already got the framing up. But we didnt quite think through the step down thats in the garage. It has this funky outdoor looking strip of carpet on it. The problem is its about 3 ft wide and runs just about the entire length of the garage and its taking up a lot of floor space. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be the easiest way to get this thing up. Im pretty sure its concrete.

    Thanks.

why not raise the floor up to meet it, that way you can insulate the floor and not have a cold concrete floor in your new addition. since it's a garage i assume you have enough height to raise the floor up.
