    Smile Floating deck

I have a flat upper deck with a rubber roof 22 years old. It has a leak in it. Can i put another rubber roof right over it or do i have to remove the existing rubber roof first??. Also where can i get info on how to install the new deck boards on top of the rubber roof?
    Thank you jack

You will need to put a 1/2" fiber board down first. Then glue your new rubber roofing to that. Then when you frame a deck over that, use a heavy rubber under any wood that touches the roof. Do not screw through the rubber.

If you're looking to save money on your roof, than go over it. But it's better to remove the rubber entirely, so you can inspect all damage from the leak. Who knows, you might have some sheathing damage - or even possible mold growth. In my honest opinion, rip it up and redo.
