Thumbs up what type of constuction is this?

I removed the plaster and lathe from one wall in my bedroom. I would like to put a door in so I can access another room from my room. I haven't ever seen framing like this. It has two inch thick boards of varying widths and varied spacing between them. Does anyone know what this type framing is called? This is on the second floor of a ca p e syle home.

Pics will help. Upload pics to a host like photobucket, then give us the link.

Do you have pictures? What you have sounds similar to what we found in our house. We have what they call board on board, which is basically plank walls without normal wall studs. I'd be interested in what you ended up doing with yours.
