    If you have a serious problem with dampness you would be wasting money updating the kitchen until that is sorted. But once you've figured that part out I think the easiest way to update a kitchen is with new counter tops and fresh paint.

    Saw this article about painting laminate cabinets. My cabinets are from the same era. I may try my hand at painting the cabinets in my house.
