You could always use CFL or LED bulbs and never get anywhere near the amperage for concern, and save yourself a lot of money in the long run. Home Depot was recently selling some for chandelier CFLs for $3.97 for a 3 pack. I bought 7 and replaced 555W of incandescents with 147W of CFL and got much brighter rooms (though they take a minute to warm up) LEDs and better CFLs are instant but I'm cheap.
