Deck Surface Treatment to Prevent Slipping
Is the best treatment a Water Sealant [/B]to prevent slipping when the deck surface is wet? I'm rebuilding a 24 year old deck and want to make it safer than it was.
Re: Deck Surface Treatment to Prevent Slipping
It'll sort of depend on the existing surface if there is one. If it's all new wood, use sealer not paint. The sealer will be absorbed into the wood and the surface of the wood will provide the traction. On a wet day, it still might be a little slippery but if you leave a half inch space between boards, you should be OK. I've had decks like that and they weren't too bad.
