Refinishing table & chairs - deglosser questions?
I'm trying to redo a table and chair set. This is my first refinishing project so I'm a little nervous on how it's going to turn out. I started with the chairs and trying to strip them first which didn't really work, so then I started sanding. They're about 80% sanded, however I'm having a really tough time sanding with all the details. I started researching more and found information on liquid sandpaper/deglossing. Here are my questions, will it work for refinishing tables and chairs? Will it hurt the chairs if I've all ready sanded part of them? I plan on re-staining the top of the table however I'll be painting everything else, will both paint and stain adhere to deglosser? Do I still need to prime for the paint with a deglosser? I greatly appreciate any advice!
