Default Advice for window apron detail.

Okay, I will try and explain in words as best I can. I have windows that are low to the floor. From window stool to floor is about 8". I am looking for advice on how to best trim out apron under the stool. I am thinking of installing a board that is thicker than baseboard and install under window stool. My baseboards are 6" speed base. This will allow me to cut baseboards to terminate at the thicker board. Instead of just having plain smooth board under window was thinking of using same window casing trim under stool also to build up apron. Does anyone have any better thoughts on how to handle windows that are very close to the floor?

Next Saturday, go on a home tour of the houses for sale in your neighborhood. Go into homes build like yours and see what they did and what is "normal" for your area.

Houston means "next Sunday". More open houses on Sundays.

Other sources are home decor magazines.
