Talking One of the many possible replacements needed

Both tubs in this house that we recently bought are about 25 years old I believe. The tub upstairs is a full suround and it appears to be installed over several boards. There are three areas over the boards where it appears that the vinyl is cracking. Can this be repaired or do we need to replace the entire tub unit tight away. Also, is this type of installation over boards normal?

    Thanks a bunch!

I know they sell repair kits for the type of cracks you have. I haven't done it, but it can be done.

Find more info on line or at box stores.

On the other hand, if your tub enclosure is old, you may want to consider replacing it. It's always a fine line to make a decision like this: fix the old or buy new.
