Default Converting from a Gas Pilot to Spark Ignition?

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any thoughts if it's worth switching from a standard gas pilot to a spark ignition system?

I have a UTICA MGB150HD Gas Boiler with a HONEYWELL VR8200A Gas Valve and a FIELD CONTROLS GVD-4 exhaust damper.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Pat

Not worth the trouble. It's like changing manual transmission to automatic, or from drum brakes to discs. Better to replace the whole furnace when it's time.

IMHO, pilot ignition was very good. Sure it had some troubles, but in general it was dependable.

Spark ignition is so moody, the electronic control board so flaky sometimes.
