Propane Tank Regulator Freezing
We decided to ditch our hot water tank for a tank-less hot water system. We are heating it by propane. At the end of last winter we had a problem with the tank-less system burning out on us. The contractor thought it was a problem with the regulator so he put it in a new one. This didn't work and the system started leaking water. It was under warranty so we replaced it. Two weeks later it wasn't working. He said the condensation was causing the regulator to freeze. His solution was pour water over it to thaw and this worked. It is inconvenient to get up every really cold winter morning at 6:00 a.m. to do this!
My father-in-law says the regulator they put on is from California where they don't experience -4°F weather, we need to change it with one made for cold winters. Is this a possibility?
