it all starts with one thing.....what's your budget?

also, more info is needed, such as dimensions, total square footage, where are the plumbing stacks. how many levels is this building and which level are you on.

a good place to start would be with an architect.

Better check with your landlord, first...

The diagram isn't clear enough for me to tell what the changes are

If you are renting this place, you probably won't be able to make these changes.

If you own this apartment, these changes look fine to me.

If you want to consult an architect, go ahead.

If you want to consult a designer, go ahead.

I would definitely find out about what the rules are for returning it back to "previous condition."

I have used mess up paint from Home Depot or the like in a neutral color if the landlord said I had to return it to a normal color. I painted stripes on a nursery wall one time.

Some other ideas for sprucing up a rented space could be:
    wall stickers
larger pieces of art that you can take with you
    stick on, wireless sconces
    furniture that is easily updated

    Hope this helps!
