Spray foam insulation
I am very much the amateur when it comes to diy projects, so I tend to ask a lot of questions and investigate to assure myself that the job in mind I can do.
My question for now is: When using spray foam insulation in the basement in applying it to the ceiling joist and sub-floor, is there a problem when it covers or encapsulates copper piping ? Is there any chemical reaction of the foam on the copper pipes? Also, encapsulating wiring? junction box?
Re: Spray foam insulation
Not my bailiwick, but I see this done in new construction all the time so I don't think there are any issues with this. I presume the contractors use the correct foam and techniques as I've never heard of any problems.
