    Default water under window sill

I notice when it rains water accumulates under window sill in the inside and cheaprock has disintergrated. I am on the top floor and wonder where and how to begin the search for the leak. I am thinking of having thermal and infrared imaging to locate the leak. Is this a viable way to go or is it over the top? Thanks for your help.

Most likely, the flashing around the window is not stopping the rain water. Without seeing what you got, I would guess that you have to look at re-doing that first.
