Question Mortar - what is the correct type for Tyndall Stone

Can anyone confirm what is the correct type of mortar to use for repointing exterior Tyndall stone. Is it a different type of mortar than what is used for red brick ? Thanks

The best place to ask would be the manufacturer of the stone.
I suffer from CDO ... Its like OCD, but in alphabetical order, LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!

I believe that if it's for wall stones, use type M, and if it's for landscape stones use type S.

Another good source of accurate info will be experienced masons and brick layers. Try to find masons from Manitoba, Canada.
