Default Sash window with screen that drops into wall cavity

    Hello everyone,
I have a sash window with a insect screen attached to the bottom, so when you open the window the screen lifts up with it from inside the brick cavity.
I need to replace the cords and as I have not done one of these types I am a bit lost.
    Any help would be appreciated

Many sash windows have a trap door in the sides of the jamb. Remove the cover and you have access to the weights. If you don't have the trap doors, then you have to carefully pull the trim. to get to the weight pockets.

Go to the hardware store beforehand and purchase "sash cord".
I suffer from CDO ... Its like OCD, but in alphabetical order, LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!

Thanks but I am really looking for the correct way to remove the window.
As it has the screen attached to the bottom. I may not come out the same way as standard single hung sash
