    Default Lighting upgrade

I am installing new 2 gang junction box which is for 2 dimmer switches. I remove the old shallow box so I can use an old construction blue box in its place. The problem is there is a junction box on the wall on the other side which will not allow me to use the deeper blue box. I am afraid if I purchase a shallow box I will not have the space needed in the box without cramming all the wires in it. What can I do?

Move one up or down. Usually down as there is an ADA height limit.

Or add a surface mount cover which will stick out 1" or so

That is a good idea. This is going to go in a kitchen. Moving it out an inch would not work (wifey won't be happy). Also, moving up or down would look out of place. I am unable to move either to a different wall. Any other out of box ideas, or am I just in trouble?

if you're using an old work box you can move it to one side of the box on the other side.....either 4" to the left or right if you're happy with the current height.

Stud space is only7" wide. Is there any kind of attachment I can put on a junction box?

Turns out steel city makes a box 2 1/8" deep which give me an 1/8" to play with
