    Default Wax Seals for Toilets..

    Hi All -

What are the signs that one should look for to determine to replace the wax seals on their toilet?

    Thanks!

Leaking around the base or excessive movement of the bowl.

    Hi John!

Thanks for the response. No water (I guess @ this point), however, the toilet does move pretty good.

I see that there are different sizes (10, 3, etc....) How do I decipher which one that I need? Not sure if there are rules of thumbs or not.

    Thanks,
    Bill

I don't know if you got your toilet fixed or not by now, but when you choose a wax ring, look at Sani Seal as well: it's waxless and one size fits all.

I do love me a SaniSeal. They are all we use.

The numbers indicate thickness, "1`" being the thinnest seal. Big box stores carry up to a 3; for a 10 you'll have to go to a plumbing supply house.
