Default lazy flame - does is require a funance replacement?

I'm buying a house and my inspector and my HVAC guy both say that the furnace needs to be replaced. 26yrs old gas unit has a lazy flame. It was cleaning and still has the lazy flame. I can't get a straight answer if the furnace needs to be replaced or not. Help.. thanks!

It is a 26 year old furnace. You can either replace it while it still works, or you can wait until it doesn't work, which will be any time.
It's this old house, not this built after your dad was born house.

I don't understand why you say you can't get a straight answer whether to replace the furnace or not, if both your inspector and A/C guy tell you to replace it.
    Replace it.
