Default UK/EU Table saw ("Cabinet Saw?") recommendations

    Hi again everybody,

The wife has been watching eps of New Yankee Workshop with me, and has been bitten by the cabinetry bug. Before now all we've done was simple framing with my miter saw + circular, but now we're looking to get a real honest table saw.

The standard US brands (Porter Cable, Rigid, Craftsman, Grizzly) are unavailable here due to voltage and presumably ridiculously high import tarifs (I pay ~250 eur/$350 for a bostitch brad nailer that's $80 in the us, for example).

I've seen a few recommendations out there, but as the nomenclature is SO different between France/US and UK/US, I figured I'd just post some links of the items we're considering and see what you guys could make of it.

What we want, is a cast iron bed saw that can rip up to 3/4" plywood/mdf panels of up to 2m/6ft in length, and also handle ripping some hardwoods, oak, maybe cherry, for small-ish furniture projects. Has to be monophase, so '230/240v.'

Here are the saws we've been considering:

    http://www.sipuk.co.uk/tools/info_SIP01332.html
    SIP 01332 10" 3 HP 230v 2.2kW

    http://www.axminster.co.uk/jet-jet-j...#bottomsection
    Jet JTS-600 ~8" 230v 2.6kW

    http://www.ukhammer.co.uk/gb-en/prod...-k3-basic.html
    Hammer K3 basic ~12-13" 4 HP 3kW

The Hammer is twice as expensive as the other two, but from what I've heard it's also very, very high quality.

I'm really not sure what to look for (sliding table next to blade? micro-adjustable mitre thinger?) so any help is greatly appreciated!

Not familiar with any but the Jet.
The Hammer looks like an industrial unit with the 400 volt motor as standard and 230 volt as an option. I would say it is overkill for a DIYer.

The Jet is a nice unit but I personally prefer a larger table top over the sliding table.

The SIP comes closet to mathching what I have in my shop, but i am not familiar with the brand.

One of the main considerations is the availability of parts and service.

Should not be a problem for any of them with the exception of SIP, which seems to be UK-only. Hammer is Felder Group's 'advanced DIY' offer and as they're in Germany I think I can get service pretty easily.

One more saw that I forgot to mention that I'm looking at is this one:

Axminster 305mm=12", 2.2kw/1HP is a bit slower than the others, but it seems to have a better build quality from the photos at least.
