    Lightbulb faucet drip

How important is the screw that holds the faucet handle on that goes on just before putting the cap showing hot or cold?

This little screw holds the handle in place and without it, the handle won't stay there to do its job. Sometimes this screw gets rusty, stripped and hard to get out.

On a dual handle "twist" style faucet, you'd still be able to use the faucet, the handles will just be loose. On a lever style faucet it will be useless.
