Default how do i find my well

I live in a 100 year old house I have a surface pump in the basement pulling water from the well and everything is working fine. problem is eventually my foot valve will go bad and I have no idea where my well is I obviously know where the line exits the foundation but there is no evidence of where the well is. anyone have any ideas? the only clue I have is an old picture of the house that shows a hand pump on the side of the house in the general area that the pipe exits the house. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any way to locate the well without digging holes all over to hopefully find it.

Pitcher pumps that were located outside in most cases were connected directly to the well. If you can pinpoint the location of the old pump the well should be under that location.
