Crack in vinyl tile floor reappears near home's back door-what can we do?
My house is over 80 years old. The back door of the house opens on to a small landing from where you can choose to go to the right down the stairs to the basement or up a single step, through a door into the kitchen. This little landing is tiled with 4 12x12 pieces of self stick vinyl tile. Several years ago, a crack developed in the 2 tiles closest to the outside door. The tile was old and faded, so we simply replaced it with some pieces left by the previous owner. Recently, the crack has reappeared, and now that we are older and wiser, we realize it seems to mimic the space where the subfloor and the threshold meet.
Is our floor/stair pulling away from the wall or is the tile cracking because of the movement/settling of the house?
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

It's possible that movements affect those tiles. Talk to local concrete contractors to find out what they think of your problem. Pick their brains for solutions.
