Default Mildew on exterior porch ceiling

We live in central PA. About 18 years ago we had a wraparound porch built on 2 sides of our home. The ceiling is plywood grooved to look like beadboard. Every 4 or 5 years we have to scrub off the mildew, paint it with Kilz and then a top coat. What do we need to do to fix this problem?

    Is this an enclosed porch?

You need to address what causes the mold in the first place: most likely some moisture.

Dj1 is correct. Mildew does not exist without the presence of moisture. Does this enclosed porch have and attic type space above it? If so, how is it vented. Does it share walls with the house proper? Is it possible that household moisture is making it into that space? Some venting that got inadvertantly covered up? It would be interesting to see what the inside of that space looks like.
