If you are facing a window replacement project, you will need to do your homework first. That includes: reading and learning about your options, getting estimates, deciding on style and type of windows, your budget, etc.

As you can see, some folks like wood frames, others like vinyl or aluminum. Some folks look at windows as functional items, others as decorative items.

You don't replace windows often in your life, you want your decision to be informative, comfortable and wise with no regrets later.

So my answers showed that these contractors recommended vinyl because they make more money with less labor installing vinyl.

BTW, the window that I installed today is in. I have two more short visits to finish the drywall mud, the stucco and paint.
The current windows have aluminum frames.
