Question Fans humming after short was fixed in house wiring

We recently had a short somewhere, which caused about 3/4 of the power controlled by one circuit to go out. We checked all of the affected and adjacent outlets and ceiling lights, but couldn't find the short. However, our electrician found a free hot wire to use as a workaround, restoring power to the back of our house.

    The problem is this:

    1. The ceiling fan in our bedroom is normally very quiet. Now, however, there's a deep humming noise coming from the fan when it's on. When it's switched off, no hum. This started as soon as the wiring fix was applied.

    2. The bathroom exhaust fan also has a nearly identical hum, but at a lower volume. This is also new.

    3. One of our outdoors outlets - on the same circuit - won't work. If we press in the reset button, we get a very loud noise ... and no reset. Sounds like a super loud version of the same hum.

Any ideas about what's causing this? We can't get the electrician out until next week.

the reason for the humming is that those fixtures are not getting enough power to them. there's a problems somewhere. call a better electrician.

I'm gonna give them one chance to fix it, then move on to another if the issue persists. Thanks!
