I have a 1924 bungalow that over time and ground shifting is touching eaves with the house next door. I have insulated my attic and have 4 roof vents as well as the gable ends. The other house is a rental and has been damming for years. Now that we touch the snow lays across both roof edges in an ice pack over a foot deep. Can I cut my roof edge back to allow space btween the 2 houses or will that create more problems?
Re: ice dam
It's your house, you can do whatever you want with it.
Without seeing the house it's impossible to recommend.
