    Default Cement Lally?

Is there any way to tell if the lally columns in the basement of my house, built in 1919, are cement filled?

you can tell by tapping them with a hammer or something hard like that. sounds hollow it's empty, doesn't it's filled with cement. chances are that it's filled with cement. unless it's something home made they're all cement filled. naturally that doesn't include temporary lally columns.

Even with the house being almost 100 years old?

that old? then you should be able to tell if you tap it. it's possible that it's not filled, just rare.
