Default Buff haze out of hardwood flooring?

I placed a small area rug down without a pad on my hardwood floor and now there is an area that looks like its been rubbed with really fine sandpaper. There is no deep scratches or gouges, the finish just looks hazy.

Is there a product I can use to buff this area out? Can I do it by hand if its a small area?

BTW, my flooring is has a semi gloss finish NOT high gloss.

what i would do is to lightly sand the area under the rug and feather the sanding into the unharmed part of the floor. then repoly with some semi gloss. you can't bring back the shine with buffing, the gloss finish has been worn away.

but it won't last, you'll have to keep redoing it weekly or monthly

I have tried several things and spent hours on my hands and knees, until I used Windex which seems to have worked fine. It took all the haze off and my floors look great.
