I have a 1922 bungalow with a half-wall porch. When I moved in (1998), the porch screens were not in good shape and the porch needed repairs, so I removed them. Now it is fixed and I'm debating whether or not to re-install some screens. The appraiser counts it as a plus, the bugs count it a minus, but would it detract from the character of the bungalow? The first ones were added in the 1930's. I don't know if this matters, but the roof over my porch is a continuation of the attic with a gable window, not a separate roof. I imagine most of you will say, "do what you want," but I'm not sure what I want. Opinions please.
