    Cool furniture stripping

hi everyone, can anyone help me here. I stripped a table and 4 charis that were white in color. When I apply the stain color that I want it seems that the white is still coming through the stain. Does anyone have any suggestions. I stripped, sanded and washed with lacquer thinner. thanks

Was the old finish a white wash stain or paint ? it sounds like you really didn't get down to bare wood
completely . The lacquer thinner may still be in the wood grain dissolving whats left . I would resand and make sure the lacquer is gone dried out . I'm not a pro but have done some refinishing . Good luck .
