DO NOT let the flooring company refinish your stove themselves! Make sure that a reputable company does the work and get a receipt for it. If the new finish fails, you want to be able to go after someone about it. Also, be very cautious about signing any releases, waivers, etc., which will absolve HD and the installers of any further liability. Your stove was perfectly fine before their F-up, don't let them off the hook with anything short of a new stove if that is what is necessary.
