    What is the approximate average cost per square foot to have a electrician wire a finished basement drop ceiling that has a combination of fluorescent and can lighting in the Boston general area...

    Don't quite know what you mean but;

    Just take the distance between lights + 8 ft per light + 20 ft per switch + length back to panel + distance between 3 way or 4 way switches, to arrive at how much wire will be required.

    Generally speaking, nobody here can give acurate estimates on costs. We are all located in different areas.

    But I can tell you this: if you call 2 or 3 local electricians, they will be happy to bid on this job. Just remember that contractors factor their labor, transportation and profit into their bids, just like your local grocer or dentist.
