    Default outside doors

Why do they only make outside doors in 30", 32", 36", not 34"? Been to three places Home Depot, Lowe's, Menard's all have doors in 30, 32, 36 no 34. They can be ordered but the price doubles plus

There's always salvage doors. You can usually get a 34" for less because it's not a common size.

The big box stores are not the best places to find unusual sized items.

I did a quick search and found 2 sources for 34" wide stock exterior doors.

Go to Door and Sash outlets near you and ask them. If their prices are as bad as the big box stores, try the web.

Because 30" and 32" were the norm until the ADA was passed and required 36" doors.

Also, as Americans have grown wider, there became a need for wider doors...

Hello I am new to this site but wanted to ask a question relating to exterior door prep and the standard for center to center (CTC) measurements if anyone can tell me what these are. I live in Canada but I would assume that the standard CTC is the same for US as for Canada but I could be wrong about that. thank you

Are you looking for the measurements for rough opening size?
