Default Doorway Trim Won't Fit, Alternatives?

Pondering what to do about an interior kitchen passthrough, no door, that leads to a foyer where on the right side only I cannot fit a piece of 1x4 trim because the kitchen cabinets were installed too close to the wall (not my fault!! when the contractor used 12inch block not 10inch block we lost a couple of inches). As usual, the carpenter is the end of the line and deals with the problem at hand.

I have thought of painting a faux trim piece all the way up until I can taper a piece of real trim.

Something needs to go there, I want to put a header on top to match all the other headers.

It's in the kitchen so there couldn't be a more visible spot in the entire house. It has to work. All ideas appreciated.

The problem with ripping it down is that the thickness of clearance is about an 1/8th of an inch.

I don't understand what you mean by thickness of the clearance either.

If 1x4 trim is too wide and if you don't want to rip it, ger a narrower trim piece.

There is only an 1/8 inch space between the wall and the kitchen cabinet drawer when it is opened. I have some pics but this system keeps saying its not a valid extension, but it is a jpg within the dimensions and file size, so what's the story with that?

Ugh... I put some pics on a web page here...

So to clarify the problem, the clearance between wall and cabinet when open is an 1/8 inch.

so in the end, i decided to use a thin strip of ply that came with the cabinetry, cut it the width of the trim, and fitted it into place, im the only one who notices. i hate it though. but i have new challenges to tackle elsewhere. thanks all.
