    Question Kitchen Sink - Help!

Last night while doing the dishes my strainer around the plug came off! All of a sudden my feet and rug were wet and took me over an hour to clean up the water.
I have everything lined up again but can tell when I use the plug again it will come loose again.
How do I glue/fix this part from coming off again?

Sounds like your talking about the basket strainer but really hard to know what your talking about the basket strainer screws on and uses plumber's putty the piping is usually connected with ferrels and nuts.

    I guess I have a clue.

If your sink strainer fell through the hole - you need a new sink. Not glue, not caulking and not a prayer.

You see, strainers are made smaller than the hole, so they can stay in the sink.

Call a plumber for a quick fix.

Maybe she meant sprayer? The hose came off the end?

Question Re: Kitchen Sink - Help!

Sorry for not coming back sooner or making myself clear. I didn't know what the part was called but since then found out it's the sink strainer part that came off and loose. It's sitting in the hole pretty good and I'm keeping a bucket under the sink right now.
Leaks are minimal but if I put the plug in it all comes loose again. So do I need to replace the strainer? I've seen them for sale everywhere from the Dollar Store and Walmart to the building supply stores.
Or do I have to get a whole new sink?
    Or can it be fixed?

Again, without pictures or personal inspection, we can't tell you anything about the strainer or the drain system.

From the sounds of it a new strainer may take care of the problem, but this is only a guess from the limited information provided.

I don't understand how the strainer can cause the water to drain all over your feet. Do you have a normal drain system under your sink?

We need photos as Spruce said, because your description of the situation is not clear.

With GOOD photos we'll be able to determine where your problem is and how to repair it.
