Default If it's dripping now, will it drip when completed?

Bathroom renovations are moving slowly, my son and his handy friend are installing the shower's mechanical parts. Currently the hot water is capped off and the cold water is hooked up. The copper pipe for the shower head is in place but not the lower spout. It's dripping from the shower head (not the solder seam, but out through the tap).

Do I have a faulty part or is it the installation? It doesn't seem logical to continue without addressing this drip. Or perhaps this is normal, can drips happen during installation and yet somehow not be dripping upon completion? Some how I don't think so.

We are using a Danze shower system, it was purchased about 5/6 yrs ago and has been sitting in the box.

    Thank you for your feedback.

Is the handle in off position? if yes, there shouldn't be any lingering leak. If it leaks from the top, you may have a defective 'body'. Danza offers limited lifetime gaurantee - call them and be nice, they'll send you a new cartridge.

Regardless the leak, why is the hot capped off? do you like cold showers?

was the body of the shower valve disassembled before it was soldered in place, if not, the heat from soldering could have damaged the rubber components. Fortunately the rubber and plastic parts can be replaced.
