    Default hole in kitchen floor

    love your show,im originally from Boston,i need help i have a hole in my kitchen floor it is a house my wife and i purchased in 2010 before we both lost our jobs it is here in orlando florida the area i believe was a add on at one time the house is 965 sq feet the area is 9ft wide by 90 inches long it looks like when they did this add on it was done poorly it has like picked fence on top of the long beams underneath and now that i fell threw looks like particle board i need good and possible inexspensive way to fix this problem will be doing it myself,i think i will need to remove the whole area and do it over please advise ...thank you

    Did you get a chance to determine why the 'fence' boards gave? moisture? dry rot? termites? insufficient spacing of the joists below? other?

    After you found out the cause, make sure it doesn't happen to you again. Then you need to rip the old subfloor and start from scratch. This time do it right.
