My grandmother's 100 yo house was built about 6 inches from the ground, their is now a mildew problem from the dry rot caused by the floors being so close to the ground. There is no subfloor.
The foundation floor joists are rotting.
To repair the foundation joists, could the floor be pulled up, joist jacked up and bamboo planks wedged in?
I have heard boric acid helps control dry rot?
Is there an appropriate insulation that could be sprayed under the floors?
Thank you very much for any expert advice!
