We have an 1893 Victorian here in New Hampshire with the original Southern Yellow Pine doors(39 doors in total) and about half of the doors were refinished with polyurethane sometime in the past (sealing them against their molding) and they have cracked, not being able to float as they were designed to do. I've tried taking a spare door apart but they are put together in such a way that I couldn't get the door apart without doing some serious damage to the stiles. I'd like to get the panels out, if possible, and get them glued-up and "floating" as they should be. I've also given some thought to trying to glue them, in place, but thought I'd get some advice from someone who has faced this problem before. Any ideas?
